DUSHANBE, October 10, 2012, Asia-Plus -- On Wednesday October 10, Tajik President Emomali Rahmon received visiting Russian Minister of Interiors Vladimir Kolokoltsev, who arrived in Dushanbe to attend a joint board meeting of the interior ministries of Tajikistan and the Russian Federation.
According to the Tajik president’s official website, the sides discussed issues related to organization of joint actions of the interior ministries of the two countries to combat transnational crime, terrorism, extremism and drug trafficking.
Tajik leader reportedly expressed satisfaction with the level of cooperation between the sides in preventing crime and pointed to the necessity of improvement of operational exchange of information between the law enforcement authorities of Tajikistan and the Russian Federation.
The sides expressed confidence that the joint board meeting of the interior ministries of Tajikistan and Russia would promote further expansion of cooperation between the law enforcement agencies of the two countries.
