DUSHANBE, October 17, 2012, Asia-Plus -- On the sidelines of the 12th summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Tajik President Emomali Rahmon yesterday met with his Azeri counterpart Ilham Aliyev in Baku, Azerbaijan yesterday.
The Tajik president’s official website reports state and prospects of further expansion of bilateral mutually beneficial cooperation between Tajikistan and Azerbaijan were a major topic of the meeting.
A special attention was given to practical implementation of bilateral agreements on economic cooperation that were signed last July during Tajik leader’s official visit to Baku.
The sides, in particular, discussed issues related to international transit as well as extraction and processing of oil and gas.
