DUSHANBE, January 23, 2013, Asia-Plus  -- On Tuesday January 22, Tajik and Kyrgyz foreign ministries held political consultations in the Kyrgyz capital Bishkek, the Tajik MFA information department reports.

Tajik delegation was led by First Deputy Foreign Minister, Mahmoudjon Sobirov, and Kyrgyz delegation was headed by Askar Beshimov, Deputy Foreign Minister.

The sides reportedly discussed the state and prospects of further expansion of bilateral cooperation between their countries and exchanged views on topical international and regional issues.

They also carried out an inventory of bilateral documents that had been signed in various spheres of political, trade and economic, scientific, cultural and humanitarian cooperation.

In the course of the talks, the sides pointed to the necessity of establishing closer ties for solving water-and-energy issues, implementing regional transportation projects and developing cross-border trade.

They also considered a number of regional issues being of mutual interest, the source said.
