DUSHANBE, January 24, 2013, Asia-Plus -- Tajik Embassy has been officially opened in Kuwait City, the capital city of the State of Kuwait.
According to the Tajik MFA information department, Tajik Ambassador to Kuwait Zubaydullo Zubaydov on January 22 met with Mohammed Ahmad Al-Mejren Al-Rumi, Director, Asia Department, Kuwaiti Foreign Ministry.
The sides reportedly discussed issues related to the state and prospects of further expansion of mutually beneficial cooperation between Tajikistan and Kuwait.
Mohammed Ahmad Al-Mejren Al-Rumi assessed opening of the Tajik Embassy in Kuwait as an important event in relations of the two friendly countries, the source said.
We will recall that Tajik President Emomali Rahmon signed decrees on opening of embassies in Kuwait and Qatar on January 3, 2013.
Kuwait is a sovereign Arab state situated in the north-east of the Arabian Peninsula in Western Asia. It is a constitutional monarchy and has the oldest directly elected parliament among the Arab States of the Persian Gulf. Kuwait has a GDP of 167.9 billion USD and a per capita income of 81,800 USD, making it the 5th richest country in the world, per capita.
Kuwait has proven crude oil reserves of 104 billion barrels (15 km³), estimated to be 10% of the world''s reserves. According to the Kuwaiti constitution, all natural resources in the country and associated revenues are government property. Kuwait is a tax-free country and its oil industry accounts for 80% of government revenue. Petroleum and petrochemicals account for nearly half of GDP and 95% of export revenues.
