DUSHANBE, March 29, 2013, Asia-Plus -- Tajik President Emomali Rahmon yesterday received Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Erlan Abdyldayev, who arrived in Tajikistan to attend the 11th Asia Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) ministerial meeting.
According to the Tajik president’s official website, Abdyldayev handed over two formal invitations from Kyrgyz President Almazbek Atambayev to Emomali Rahmon. Tajik leader is invited to pay an official visit to Kyrgyzstan and to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in Bishkek.
In the course of the talks, President Rahmon noted that Tajikistan was interested in expansion of stable and long-term cooperation with Kyrgyzstan.
“Expansion of ties with neighboring Kyrgyzstan is one of priorities of Tajikistan’s foreign policy,” Tajik president stressed.
The sides also discussed the Central Asia South Asia Electricity Transmission and Trade
Project (CASA 1000) and some other issues being of mutual interest.
