Dushanbe. 22 August. “Asia-Plus” – Meeting between Deputy Foreign Minister, Nizamiddin Zahidov, and the Ambassador of Iraq in Tajikistan (residing in Astana), Rajif Sabir al-Mousavi, was held today in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan.
According to the Foreign Ministry’s press office, the parties exchanged a thorough exchange of views on improving and developing bilateral relations.
The parties noted the need to develop an appropriate legal framework of relations between Tajikistan and Iraq, as well as creation of mechanisms to promote interaction, such as between the foreign ministries and governmental committees on trade and economic cooperation.
Issues on strengthening cooperation between the countries in the frame of international organizations, such as the United Nations and Organization Islamic Conference, were also discussed.
