DUSHANBE, September 5, 2013, Asia-Plus – Senior Minister of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs of the UK, Baroness Sayeeda Warsi, will arrive in Tajikistan on 6 September for a visit to Tajikistan. It is the first visit by a British foreign minister to Tajikistan.
The British Embassy in Tajikistan informed Asia-Plus that Baroness Warsi is in charge of cooperation with Central Asia. Her visit is a proof to strengthening of bilateral relations between the UK and Tajikistan.
It is said that during Baroness Warsi''s visit a wide range of issues will be discussed, including questions on international cooperation, security, and stability in Central Asia, trade and investment, investment of British companies into the development of Tajikistan''s economy, as well as human rights issues.
Baroness Warsi''s meetings with President Emamali Rahman, Foreign Minister, Hamrakhan Zarifi, Economic Development and Trade Minister, Sharif Rahimzadeh, and with business and civil society representatives are planned.
