DUSHANBE, September 7, 2013, Asia-Plus – President Rahman stated today during a ceremony for the 22nd anniversary of Tajikistan''s independence that presidential elections scheduled for 6 November are a serious test for the young Tajik democracy.
The country''s leader expressed confidence that presidential elections will be held in compliance with legal norms of the country, in a transparent, free, and democratic manner.
Due to this, Rahman called on potential candidates for president to take part in the elections with a high feeling of responsibility and political culture.
Rahman said: "Presidential elections should not turn into a ring of conflicts and strife, but should provide an opportunity for the candidates to submit their programs, and for the electorate to vote freely."
