DUSHANBE, October 1, 2013, Asia-Plus -- Chairman of the State Duma (Russia’s lower chamber of parliament), Sergey Naryshkin, is expected to arrive in Tajikistan the following Sunday on an official two-day visit.
In this connection, Shukurjon Zuhurov, Chairman of the Majlisi Namoyandagon (Tajikistan’s lower house of parliament), has ordered heads of the Majlisi Namoyandagon committees and commissions to prepare themselves for the upcoming inter-parliamentary negotiations.
“At our request, the head of Russia’s Federal Migration Service (FMS), Konstantin Romodanovsky, has been included in the delegation, and therefore, I asked the Tajik migration service agency to thoroughly analyze implementation of migration cooperation agreements signed between Tajikistan and the Russian Federation,” Zuhurov noted.
While in Dushanbe, Russia’s parliamentary speaker will also hold talks with Tajik President Emomali Rahmon.
Born on October 27, 1954, Sergey Naryshkin is a Russian official, politician and businessman. He has been Chairman of the State Duma since December 2011. Previously Naryshkin was head of the Administration of the President of Russia from May 2008 to December 2011; he was also chairman of the Historical Truth Commission in May 2009 until it was dissolved in February 2012.
Born in Leningrad, Naryshkin graduated from Leningrad Institute of Mechanics with a degree in engineering in 1978. In the 1990s he also graduated from International Management Institute of Saint Petersburg with a degree in economics.
