DUSHANBE, October 4, 2013, Asia-Plus -- Delegates of a pre-election congress of the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) that nominated incumbent President Emomali Rahmon to run in the 2013 presidential election have praised the president to the skies.
Upon the conclusion of the congress, its delegates, in particular, chanted: “We are with you our great leader!”
Speaking at the congress, Mr. Jonibek Qozibekov, the head of the PDP organization for the Gorno Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO), said: “The authority of the People’s Democratic Party in society is based on, first of all, the indisputable authority of its leader, Emomali Rahmon.”
“Today, oracular words of our great leader Emomali Rahmon who dubbed Gorno Badakhshan the Golden Gates of Tajikistan are coming true,” Mr. Qozibekov stressed.
He further added that allegations that part of the GBAO youth did not support President Rahmon’s policy were a rotten lie.
Speaking at the congress, Ms. Nouri Khudoyorova, Director of the Teachers’ Training College in Panjakent (Sughd province), noted that “the years of Rahmon’s presidency could be called the golden epoch in history of the Tajik people.”
All those speaking at the congress made special mention of “great services performed by Emomali Rahmon for Tajikistan.”
The congress delegates unanimously voted for President Emomali Rahmon’s candidatures.
We will recall that the Union of Youth of Tajikistan and the Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Tajikistan have also supported incumbent President Emomali Rahmon as a presidential candidate.
President Emomali Rahmon, who has been leader of Tajikistan since 1992, is running for a fourth term.
