DUSHANBE, October 9, 2013, Asia-Plus -- Outgoing Iranian Ambassador to Tajikistan Ali-Asghar Sherdoust met here Wednesday with Chairman of the Majlisi Milli (Tajikistan’s lower house of parliament) Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloyev at the end of his tenure to Tajikistan.
Shavkat Saidov, an aide to the Majlisi Milli speaker, says Ubaidulloyev expressed gratitude to Ali-Asghar Sherdoust for his effective diplomatic work in Dushanbe and stressed that ties of friendship and neighborliness unite Tajikistan and Iran that share common history, language and culture.
Ubaidulloyev reportedly expressed confidence that bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and Iran in different areas will expand in the future as well.
For his part, Mr. Ali-Asghar Sherdoust expressed gratitude to Tajik MPs for a joint work to promote further expansion of cooperation between the two nations.
