QURGHON TEPPA/KULOB, October 2, 2013, Asia-Plus -- Representatives of all state-run enterprises and organizations and students participated in the republican action “My President” which was conducted in Qurghon Teppa, the capital of Khatlon province on November 2 to support Emomali Rahmon’s candidacy.
Even schoolchildren carrying national flags and portraits of Emomali Rahmon could be seen among the action participants.
Meanwhile, Kulob authorities have decided to be content with a march of students being members of the People’s Democratic Party.
According to Samandar Abdulloyev, the head of the youth committee of the Kulob State University, more than 800 students of the Kulob State University marched from the Kulob State University to the Branch of Tajik Technological University in Kulob.
Asia-Plus could find out that ban on holding events accentuated on incumbent president was received from Emomali Rahmon himself.
We will recall that the action was organized by Sozandagoni Vatan (Homeland Builders), which is the youth organization of the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
The PDP created the Sozandagoni Vatan organization in 2011 and its founding conference took place on July 27, 2011. The organization was registered with the Ministry of Justice in November 2011.
To-date, some 25,000 young people have joined the organization. Besides, some 60,000 young people who are members of the PDP have automatically become members of Sozandagoni Vatan.
The main objective of the organization is in fostering a spirit of patriotism, devotion to ideas of national self-consciousness and independence of the country in the young generation.
