DUSHANBE, November 28, 2013, Asia-Plus – A conference formally titled “Tajikistan in the 21st Century: Prospects for Development and Progress” took place in London on November 27, the Tajik MFA information department reports.
The conference is part of a cultural program organized by the Tajik Embassy in the United Kingdom in collaboration with the Ismaili Center, London.
The main objective of the conference was in highlighting the achievements and future challenges of development in Tajikistan.
British Ambassador to Tajikistan, Robin Ord-Smith, gave a presentation on the current state of the bilateral relationship between Tajikistan and the United Kingdom.
Tajik Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Erkin Qosimov, Tajik Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade, Saidrahmon Nazriyev, and representatives of international partners such as the Aga Khan Foundation (AKF), the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the Asian Development Bank (ADB), Tethys Petroleum and others also addressed the conference.
Their presentations reportedly focused on prospects for collaboration as well as investment in Tajikistan’s economy.
