DUSHANBE, April 25, 2014, Asia-Plus -- Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov is expected to pay an official visit to Tajikistan from May 5-6, 2014.
While in Dushanbe, Turkmen leader will hold talks with Tajik President Emomali Rahmon to discuss state and prospects of further expansion of bilateral cooperation between Turkmenistan and Tajikistan, a source said.
A special attention will be paid to issues related to constructing a rail link connecting Turkmenistan, Afghanistan and Tajikistan, expanding economic cooperation between the two countries and providing regional security.
A number of cooperation documents will be signed during the Turkmen president’s visit to Tajikistan, the source added.
Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, 56, has served as the President of Turkmenistan since 2006.
