DUSHANBE, July 22, 2014, Asia-Plus -- Ms. Sabagul Valiyeva, who had previously headed one of jamoats in the city of Kulob, has been appointed chairperson of the executive committee of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP)’s organization in the city of Kulob, replacing Ms. Zulaykho Haqnazarova, Usmon Soliyev, the head of the PDP public relations department, told Asia-Plus in an interview.
According to him, Zulaykho Haqnazarova was relieved of his post of head of PDP’s organization in the city of Kulob in connection with transfer to other job. “She was appointed to head the Kulob central market,” Soliyev said.
Founded in 1993, the People’s Democratic Party is the largest political party in Tajikistan, boasting some 250,000 registered members. President Emomali Rahmon is chairman of the party. The PDP now controls more than 60 percent of the seats in parliament.
