KULOB, August 5, 2014, Asia-Plus -- Twenty residents of the southern city of Kulob, with majority of them being actors from the Kulob Theater of Musical Comedy, joined the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) today.
Therefore, a special ceremony of handing the party-membership cards took place at the Kulob Theater of Musical Comedy.
“Some 60 percent of personnel of the Kulob Theater of Musical Comedy is now members of the people’s Democratic Party,” Ms. Sabagul Valiyeva, the chairperson of the Executive Committee of PDP’s organization in Kulob told Asia-Plus in an interview.
We will recall that a group of athletes from the Panj district in Khatlon province and twenty-five players and other members of the Ravshan Kulob football club joined the country’s ruling party in special ceremonies in October 2012.
The People’s Democratic Party now controls 36 seats in the Kulob city legislature (Majlis).
