DUSHANBE, September 16, 2014, Asia-Plus -- Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloyev, Chairman of the Majlisi Milli (Tajikistan’s upper chamber of parliament), yesterday received the Russian Ambassador to Tajikistan Igor Lyakin-Frolov at the latter’s request.
Shavkat Saidov, an aide to the Majlisi Milli speaker, says the sides discussed a broad range of issues related to state and prospects of further expansion of bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and the Russian Federation.
Ubaidulloyev and Lyakin-Frolov, in particular, discussed inter-parliamentary ties between the two countries and preparations for the inter-parliamentary forum of Tajikistan and Russia that is expected to take place in Moscow from October 22-25 this year.
Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloyev will pay an official visit to Moscow on the sidelines of the forum, Saidov said.
