DUSHANBE, December 12, 2014, Asia-Plus --An extraordinary session of the Dushanbe legislature (Majlis), presided over by Dushanbe Mayor Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloyev, took place on December 12.

Shavkat Saidov, a spokesman for the Dushanbe mayor’s office, says the session made a decision to set up 70 constituencies in the city for election of members of the Dushanbe legislature.

“A city commission was set up for election of the Dushanbe Majlis members,” said Saidov.  “The commission is led by Deputy Dushanbe Mayor, Ms. Sanovbar Rahimova, and all the eight officially registered political parties are represented in the commission.”
