DUSHANBE, April 6, 2016, Asia-Plus – Afghan President Muhammad Ashraf Ghani is expected to pay an official visit to Tajikistan next month.
While in Dushanbe, Afghan president will attend a ceremony of an official inauguration of the Central Asia South Asia Electricity Transmission and Trade (Casa-1000) Project.
Kyrgyz President Almazbek Atambayev and Pakistani Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif will also arrive in Dushanbe next month to attend the ceremony of the official inauguration of CASA 1000 Project.
As per request of Tajikistan, CASA 1000 Project will be officially inaugurated here on May 12 in the presence of high-ranking officials of the four countries.
CASA-1000 Project demonstrates landmark cooperation among Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Pakistan, and Afghanistan. The modern and efficient CASA-1000 electricity transmission system will help transform the region and signify an important step toward realizing the planned Central Asia-South Asia Regional Electricity Market (CASAREM). The CASAREM initiative will help not only these four countries, but also improve the electricity systems and develop inter-regional cooperation between Central Asia and South Asia.
