DUSHANBE, April 8, 2016, Asia-Plus – On Thursday April 7, Mr. Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloyev, Chairman of the Majlisi Milli (Tajikistan’s upper house of parliament), received Ms. Elisabeth I. Millard, U.S. Ambassador to Tajikistan, at the latter’s request, an official source at the Majlisi Milli told Asia-Plus in an interview.
In the course of the talks, Ubaidulloyev highly appraised the level of bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and the United States, noting that Tajikistan is interested in further expansion of cooperation with the United States, the source said.
Noting the United States’ efforts to establish peace and accord in Afghanistan, Tajik parliament speaker stressed that peace in Afghanistan is important for Tajikistan.
The two also discussed issues related to expansion of inter-parliamentary ties between Tajikistan and the United States.
