DUSHANBE, May 26, 2016, Asia-Plus – Saudi Arabia will provide funds for construction of a new parliament complex in Dushanbe.
In accordance with agreements reached during Tajik president’s official visit to Saudi Arabia, the funds for construction of the parliament complex in Dushanbe are expected to be provided this year.
Visiting Chairman of Majlis ash-Shura (Consultative Assembly) of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Dr. Abdullah ibn Muhammad Al ash-Sheikh, informed the Majlisi Milli (Tajikistan’s upper house of parliament) Chairman Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloyev of that in Dushanbe yesterday.
An official source at the Majlisi Milli says the two sides reportedly discussed issues related to bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and Saudi Arabia.
Ubaidulloyev reportedly expressed confidence that expansion of inter-parliamentary cooperation between the two countries would create the ground for practical implementation of agreements reached between the two countries.
Dr. Abdullah ibn Muhammad Al ash-Sheikh invited Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloyev to pay an official visit to Saudi Arabia at any time convenient for him, the source said.
