DUSHANBE, June 15, 2016, Asia-Plus – Outgoing UN Resident Coordinator, Resident Representative of UNDP in Tajikistan Alexander Zuev today met here with President Emomali Rahmon at the end of his tenure to Tajikistan.
According to the Tajik president’s official website, Rahmon expressed satisfaction with the high level of cooperation between Tajikistan and United Nations agencies.
He noted that Tajikistan intended to expand cooperation with the UN institutions.
Alexander Zuev, for his part, expressed gratitude to the president and the government of Tajikistan for constructive cooperation with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
Rahmon and Zuev also discussed issues related to technical assistance provided by the UN institutions to Tajikistan, the president’s website said.
UNDP has been on the ground in Tajikistan since 1994. UNDP Tajikistan works in partnership with the Government of Tajikistan and plays an active part to harmonize the efforts of all the UN agencies active in the country. The development work of the UN agencies in Tajikistan is regulated by the United Nations Development Assistance Framework (UNDAF).
