DUSHANBE, July 1, 2016, Asia-Plus – On Wednesday June 29, newly appointed Tajikistan’s Ambassador to Uzbekistan Sodiq Imomi presented his credentials to Uzbek President Islam Karimov.
According to the Tajik MFA information department, the two discussed state and prospects of further expansion of bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
Tajik ambassador noted that he would make every effort to promote further expansion of bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
Meanwhile, Uzbek president’s website notes that during the meeting of Islam Karimov with Tajik Ambassador it was noted that destinies of Uzbek and Tajik peoples were deeply intertwined and they shared common history, spiritual values and traditions.
It was reportedly stressed that agreements that had been reached during a bilateral meeting of heads of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan in Tashkent on sidelines of a summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) would promote further development of Uzbekistan-Tajikistan relations.
