DUSHANBE, August 16, 2016, Asia-Plus – Tajik Deputy Foreign Minister, Mr. Muzaffar Huseinzoda, yesterday met with Germany’s Ambassador to Tajikistan, Mr. Holger Green.

According to the Tajik MFA information department, the two discussed issues related to state and prospects of further expansion of bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and Germany.

Germany is currently chairing the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) and Huseinzoda and Green also discussed participation of Tajikistan in the OSCE upcoming events.

They reportedly also exchanged views on economic and environmental protection cooperation in the OSCE area.  

The OSCE Office in Tajikistan is an OSCE field operation based in the country’s capital, Dushanbe, with field offices in Gharm, Khujand, Kulob, Qurghon Teppa, and Shahritous.  As one of the largest OSCE field operations, the Office is involved in a wide range of activities, ranging from arms control, counter-terrorism and border management projects to supporting cross-border markets and free economic zones, human rights, media development, and legal reform initiatives.
