On Thursday December 1, Tajik President Emomali Rahmon met in Prague with Czech Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka.
According to the Tajik president’s official website, new opportunities of expansion of bilateral mutually beneficial cooperation between Tajikistan and the Czech Republic were in focus of the meeting.
Rahmon reportedly expressed satisfaction with the current level of cooperation between Tajikistan and the Czech Republic and confirmed Tajikistan’s readiness to expand its cooperation with the Czech Republic in the future as well.
The two sides, in particular, discussed issues related to cooperation between the business communities of the two countries and participation of the Czech Republic in implementation of investment projects in Tajikistan.
They reportedly outlined sectors like energy, transport, agriculture, and tourism as areas that could drive a two-way trade between the two countries
Rahmon and Sobotka also exchanged views on a number of international regional issues being of mutual interest, including the current situation in Afghanistan.
