On Monday December 12, Tajik President Emomali Rahmon arrived in Sri Lanka on a state visit, according to the Tajik president’s official website.

Sri Lankan Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe reportedly welcomed President Rahmon at the Bandaranaike International Airport.

Meanwhile, Sri Lanka Internet newspaper ColomboPage reports Tajik President Emomali Rahmon arrived in Sri Lanka Monday for a three-day state visit.

Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena reportedly welcomed the Tajikistan head of state at an official ceremony that was held Tuesday at the Presidential Secretariat.

According to ColomboPage, President Rahmon, leading a 12-memebr delegation of high ranking officials including Tajikistani foreign minister, is scheduled to hold bilateral discussions with the President Maithripala Sirisena, Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe, and Speaker Karu Jayasuriya in Colombo.

He will also sign several agreements, visit Kandy, and meet Sri Lankan business community during his stay in the country and will leave the country on Wednesday.
