Newly-appointed Afghan Ambassador to Tajikistan Mohammad Gul Zalmay Yunosi has arrived in Dushanbe.
On Tuesday December 20, he presented a copy of his credentials to Tajik Foreign Minister Sirojiddin Aslov, according to the Tajik MFA information department.
During the meetings after the ceremony of presentation of the copy of credentials, the two reportedly discussed ways to expand bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and Afghanistan.
They also exchanged views on the issues related to regional cooperation and intensification of activities of bilateral interagency and inter-region working groups and commissions.
Mr. Mohammad Gul Zalmay Yunosi replaced Mr. Abdul Ghafoor Arzou who headed the Afghan diplomatic mission in Dushanbe until the end of November.
Born in 1958, Mohammad Gul Zalmay Yunosi is an ethnic Tajik from Balkh. He received his primary education in Mawlana Jalaluddin Balkhi School and finished high school in Balkh. He obtained BA in Law and Politics at Kabul University. He had previously served as adviser to the governor of Balkh province.
