Tajikistan-Russian intergovernmental negotiations that took place in Dushanbe yesterday resulted in signing of six cooperation documents.
The following documents were singed in Dushanbe:
- An government-to-government agreement between Tajikistan and Russia for cooperation in environmental protection;
- An government-to-government agreement between Tajikistan and Russia for cooperation in military courier communication;
- An government-to-government agreement between Tajikistan and Russia for cooperation in the peaceful use of nuclear energy;
- An agreement between the Ministry of Labor, Migration and Employment of the Population of Tajikistan and the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Russia for cooperation on labor and employment;
- A memorandum of understanding for cooperation between the Committee for Youth, Sports and tourism Affairs of Tajikistan and the Ministry of Sports of Russia in the field of physical training;
- A program for cooperation between the Foreign Ministry of Tajikistan and the Foreign Ministry of Russia designed for 2017.
Besides, the leaders of the two countries signed a joint communiqué.
The communiqué, in particular, made a reference to bilateral cooperation in the development of Tajikistan’s hydroelectric potential.
“Both sides will work on opportunities to increase the export of electricity produced in Tajikistan in line with the region’s needs,” the joint communiqué said.
