On Thursday March 2, Tajik President Emomali Rahmon sent a message of congratulations to his Finnish counterpart Sauli Väinämö Niinistö on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Tajikistan and Finland.
According to the Tajik president’s official website, Rahmon notes in his message that Tajikistan advocates for further expansion of friendly relations with Finland and expresses readiness for using all opportunities in that direction.
For his part, Finnish President Sauli Väinämö Niinistö noted that he and his country are looking forward to further strengthening of friendly relations with Tajikistan.
Sauli Väinämö Niinistö (born August 24, 1948) is a Finnish politician and the 12th President of Finland, in office since 2012.
Finland recognized Tajikistan on December 31, 1991 and diplomatic relations between the two countries were established on February 26, 1992.
