On November 27, in Bishkek (Kyrgyz Republic), the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, took part in a regular session of the Collective Security Council of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) and delivered a speech, according to the Tajik president’s official website. .

In his address, the Head of State emphasized the important role of the CSTO in ensuring regional security, maintaining stability, and strengthening the defense capabilities of the member states.

“Tajikistan, located on the southern frontline of collective defense, attaches great importance to enhancing stability and ensuring security within the CSTO’s Central Asian area of responsibility,” Emomali Rahmon stressed.

The President described the international situation as complex and unpredictable, expressing support for the measures outlined in the meeting agenda, including draft decisions and strategic programs. Specifically, Tajikistan endorsed the CSTO Military Cooperation Development Plan for 2026–2030, and approved the adoption of the Anti-Drug Strategy for the same period.

Emomali Rahmon also emphasized the importance of cooperation between the CSTO and the Anti-Drug Center of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), currently being established in Dushanbe.

He recalled the previously adopted CSTO Interstate Program to strengthen the Tajik-Afghan border, expressing hope for its timely implementation.

The President further underlined the significance of creating a CSTO Humanitarian Response Center in Tajikistan and voiced confidence that the initiative would receive support from partner states.

Following the summit, the heads of the CSTO member states signed a number of important documents aimed at further enhancing cooperation within the organization.
