On December 11, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon arrived in Ashgabat for a working visit to attend the Forum of Peace and Trust. Later that evening, Emomali Rahmon held talks with Turkmenistan's President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
During the meeting, the two leaders discussed a wide range of issues aimed at strengthening and expanding multifaceted cooperation between their countries.
According to the Tajik president’s official website, particular attention was given to enhancing trade, economic, and investment ties, as well as deepening collaboration in areas such as transport, energy, industry, and agriculture.
President Rahmon reaffirmed Tajikistan's unwavering readiness to develop cooperation with Turkmenistan in the spirit of strategic partnership. Both sides highlighted the importance of expanding cultural and humanitarian relations and noted mutual interest in further advancing these areas.
The discussions also touched upon regional and international cooperation, with both leaders emphasizing that such efforts contribute to strengthening peace and stability in Central Asia.
It should be noted that on the same day, December 11, President Rahmon was greeted at Ashgabat airport by the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, and other official representatives.
