Iranian Ambassador to Tajikistan Nasser Sarmadi-Parsa has told Asia-Plus that the Tajik delegation consists of the Minister of Economy and Trade Hakim Soliyev, Minister of Transport Abdurrahim Ashurov, Energy Minister Jurabek Nurmahmadov, as well as deputy ministers of foreign affairs and justice, and deputy head of Tajikistan’s central bank.
According to Iranian diplomat, the Tajik delegation has arrived in Tehran to prepare documents for signing during President Rahmonov’s visit to Tehran set for January 16.
Speaking to Asia-Plus, the Iranian diplomat said that President Rahmonov is invited by his Iranian counterpart Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to attend the second tripartite summit of the three Persian-speaking countries of Iran, Afghanistan and Tajikistan scheduled to be held in Tehran. He noted that further cooperation and more agreements in economic fields, in particular construction, road building, setting up power plants and raising trade exchanges were on the agenda of the meeting.
Tajik and Iranian presidents also will hold bilateral meeting on sidelines of this tripartite summit in Tehran, according to Sarmadi-Parsa. The meeting is supposed to result in signing of a series of new documents on cooperation in various sectors of economy.
Besides, the sides also will discuss issues related to cooperation in improvement of settlements, construction of the Anzob tunnel and Sangtuda-2 hydropower plant, road building, as well as trade between the two countries, according to Iranian diplomat.
In the Asia-Plus interview, Mr. Sarmadi-Parsa noted that 53 sewing workshops had been set up in Tajikistan on initiative of the Iranian Embassy in Dushanbe that had allowed creating jobs for more than 100 Tajik women from vulnerable families. Besides, several educational centers have been opened in Tajikistan with aid of the Iranian Embassy, Iranian diplomat noted.
