remain one of priorities and main directions of
Tajikistan
’s foreign policy, Tajik President Emomali Rahmonov remarked at a meeting with visiting Iranian Energy Minister Said Parviz Fattah Tuesday afternoon. .
Head of state also noted that relations between the two countries continue developing.
According to presidential press service, a broad range of issues was discussed at the meeting. The two noted that the construction of the Anzob tunnel and Sangtuda-2 hydropower plant in
Tajikistan
was a new phase in relationships between
Tajikistan
and
Iran
.
Rahmonov and Fattah assessed bilateral cooperation in the area of energy, including the construction of the power-transmission line from
Tajikistan
via
Afghanistan
to
Iran
, as one of priorities in relationships between the two nations.
In the course of the talks the sides also exchanged views on further expansion cooperation between
Tajikistan
and
Iran
in the areas of industry, infrastructure development, agriculture, science, education and culture.
