DUSHANBE, February 27, Asia-Plus -- The fourth session of the Majlisi Milli (Tajikistan’s upper chamber of parliament) have approved 28 country’s laws.
The session of the Majlisi Milli presided by it chairman Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloyev was held on February 24.
Members of the Majlisi Milli, in particular, considered laws related to implementation of a new concept of paying wages of civil servants, prosecutors, employees of courts, police, security services, customs as well as parliament members.
Amendment made to the RT Law “On Courts of the Republic of Tajikistan” provide for paying extraordinary grant at the rate of ten-month wage to resigning judges. Besides, medical allowances are canceled to a number of categories of employees.
The session endorsed new laws “On State Purchase of Goods, Works and Services” and “On Audit Activity”.
Members of the Majlisi Milli also endorsed changes and addenda made to the RT Law “On Dehqan (Farmer-run) Farms.” Under the amendments made to the law now hunting and finishing may be held on the territory of farming units only by common consent of all members (villages) of this farm. Before that, chairman of a dehqan farm himself might give his consent to carrying out hunting or fishing on the territory of the farm.
The Majlisi Milli Chairman, Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloyev, addressing the session called on members of the upper house to more actively use the right of legislative initiative and actively participate in drafting bills.
