Rahmonov to attend CCCBMA summit in Almaty in June

DUSHANBE, April 21, Asia-Plus - President Emomali Rahmonov has been invited to attend a summit meeting of the Conference on Cooperation and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CCCBMA) that will be held in the Kazakh city of Almaty in June this year.
According to presidential press service,
Kazakhstan
’s Deputy Foreign Minister as well as Kazakh President’s Special Envoy, Nurlan Onzhanov, handed the invitation to President Rahmonov today.
In the course of the talks the two discussed state and prospects of further expansion of bilateral cooperation between
Tajikistan
and
Kazakhstan
. They also touched upon the issues related to upcoming official visit of Rahmonov to
Kazakhstan
due in early May. Rahmonov’s visit to
Kazakhstan
is expected to result in a number of bilateral cooperation documents issues
The Conference on Cooperation and Confidence-Building Measures in
Asia
is the brainchild of Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev, who envisioned it as a sort of Asian equivalent to the OSCE. The members are
