DUSHANBE, November 1, Asia-Plus - Today, Dushanbe Mayor Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloyev presided over a meeting with participation of authorities of the Sino district of Dushanbe. The meeting was held to discuss preparation of the district for the autumn and winter period of 2006-2007.
Telling the meeting, the mayor noted that compared to other districts of the city Sino is “the most problematic” in terms of preparation for the winter period.
According to report by a commission set up at the Dushanbe legislature (Majlis) to monitor for preparations for the winter period, a total electricity debt of the public in the Sino district has amounted to 1 million somonis of October 1. The public debt for natural gas has mounted to 2.1 million somonis, and the water debt to 2.9 million somonis.
The Chairman of the Sino district, Rahmatullo Tavarov, reporting on the work of heat-supply system in the district noted that they need nearly 100,000 U.S. dollars to shift boiler-houses from natural gas to coal.
During the meeting it was noted that of a total number of kindergartens located in the district only one has the central heat-supply system.
Ubaidulloyev sharply criticized the municipal structures, electricity and heat supplying facilities for failing to take efficient measure to ensure the regular work of heating systems at schools in the district in the winter period. The mayor ordered the commission and recommended the city and district prosecutor’s offices to thoroughly check preparedness of all educational and social facilities in the district for the winter period.
The mayor was also dissatisfied with difference of figures in reports by the district chairman and heads of educational, medical and social structures.
The meeting also touched upon issues related to creation of public associations of householders, construction of bus and trolleybus stops in the district.
On November 2, a similar meeting will be held in the Ismoili Somonis district and November 3, in the Firdavsi district.
