DUSHANBE, December 5, Asia-Plus - A bill requiring amendments to the country’s Tax Code was a major topic at a December 5 meeting of the Majlisi Namoyandagon (Tajikistan’s lower chamber of parliament) Committee for Economics, Budget, Finance and Tax.
Muhammadato Sultonov, a spokesman for the Majlisi Namoyandagon, said in an interview with Asia-Plus that the Majlisi Namoyandagon speaker Saydullo Khairulloyev had noted at the meeting that the proposed amendments are dedicated to simplify taxing juridical and physical entities, as well as replenishing the country’s budget. “With endorsement of the bill Tajikistan’s taxation system will be brought into compliance with international standards,” Khairulloyev was quoted as saying.
The committee member Akbar Hakimov noted that the parliament’s committees and commissions had to date received more than 90 different proposals on improvement of the Tax Code. The committee supported the bill as a whole.
After consideration by the chamber’s board (Shuro), the bill will be submitted for discussion to the session of the Majlisi Namoyandagon next week, according to the spokesman.
