DUSHANBE, December 15, Asia-Plus - Cooperation between the Tajik Government and Russia’s Unified Energy Systems (RAO YeES) in construction the Sangtuda-1 power plant on the Vakhsh River in Tajikistan topped President Rahmonov’s discussions with the RAO YeES head Anatoly Chubais in Dushanbe today morning.
Chubais arrived in Dushanbe yesterday evening to join President Rahmonov at a ceremony of an official beginning of the construction of a dam on the Vakhsh River.
Presidential press service said that the two discussed a progress of the construction of Sangtuda-1 power plant. During the meeting it was noted that the completion of construction of two drainage tunnels and readiness for damming the river allows to believe that the station will be finished on time, according to presidential press service. The two also exchanged views on possible cooperation between Tajikistan and RAO YeES in construction of other important facilities in the republic.
Rahmonov and Chubais left for the dam site at around 11:30 a.m.
