DUSHANBE, January 5, Asia-Plus - By government’s resolution of December 28 Mahmadullo Halimov was appointed as the first deputy head of the Committee for Emergency Situations and head of the Committee’s Chief Staff.
Mahmadullo Halimov had previously been first deputy minister and head of the chief staff of the Ministry for Emergency Situations that was abolished by president’s decree on November 30 last year and turned into the committee.
By government’s resolutions former deputy ministers Mamurjon Sharipov and Nuralisho Nazarov were appointed as deputy chairmen.
We will recall that Mahmadtohir Zokirov was appointed to head the committee for emergency situations. Emergencies Minister Mirzo Ziyoev, the last remaining opposition representative in the postwar government, who had served in the post of minister since 1999, was not assigned to another job.
