DUSHANBE, August 6, Asia-Plus — A seminar formally entitled “Transparency of Activity of State Bodies and Their Accountability to Society” opened in Dushanbe today.
Members of the seminar, staged by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in cooperation with UNDP CO in Tajikistan, include representatives from the government bodies and media.
Nouriddin Qarshiboyev, the head of the National Association of Independent Media of Tajikistan (Nansmit), said that one of major issues of the seminar is to consider issues related to holding of quarterly news conferences given by the ministries and organizations, to what an extent they re transparent and efficient.
According to him, Oleg Panfilov, the director of the Center for Journalism in Extreme Situations (Russia) is also participating in the seminar.
