DUSHANBE, October 8, Asia-Plus --The board (Shuro) of Tajikistan’s lower chamber (Majlisi Namoyandagon) of parliament considered bills on the country’s national budget for 2008 and indices under review at an October 8 meeting presided over by its speaker Saydullo Khairulloyev.
Muhammadato Sultonov, a spokesman for the Majlisi Namoyandagon, said that the board also considered draft resolutions on Tajik national group within the Parliamentary Union of the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC), Tajik national group within the Association of Asian Parliaments for Peace, as well as MPs’ proposals on composition of permanent commissions of the CIS Parliamentary Assembly.
The board also considered draft resolutions on creation of groups of friendship and cooperation of the Majlisi Namoyandagon with the Bundestag (Germany’s parliament), the Zhokorgu Kenesh (Kyrgyzstan’s parliament), the Mazhilis of Kazakhstan, Japan’s House of Representatives, the Supreme People’s Assembly of North Korea (DPRK), Turkey’s Grand National Assembly, and the Olii Mazhlis (Uzbekistan). .
Some of these issues will be considered at the fourth session of the Majlisi Namoyandagon on October 10, Sultonov said.
