DUSHANBE, January 28, Asia-Plus -- By president’s decrees of January 26 a number of heads of districts and cities have been replaced.
Abdukarim Hikmatov, who had previously been mayor of the city of Qairoqqum, was appointed to head the Mastchoh district, replacing Tursunboy Rahmonov, who was retired for age reasons.
Sodiq Mirkholiqov, formerly first deputy mayor of Khujand, was appointed mayor of Qairoqqum.
Nasim Obidjonov replaced Ayub Ochilov as head of the Jabborrasulov district, and Qurbonboy Karimov, formerly deputy Sughd governor, was appointed to head the Zafarobod district, replacing Bekmahmad Safarov.
Izatullo Zohirov, who had previously been deputy Sughd governor, was appointed mayor of Qurghon Teppa, replacing Ruqiya Qurbonova, who was appointed deputy prime minister.
Faridun Muhiddinov, chairman of Dushanbe’s Shohmansour district, was retired for age reasons. Dushanbe’s Ismoili Somoni chairman Akbar Fayazov was also dismissed.
