DUSHANBE, February 21, Asia-Plus -- President Emomali Rahmon today morning left for Moscow to take part at the CIS informal summit due on February 22, presidential press service said.
Foreign Minister Hamrokhon Zarifi, Labor and Social Security Minister Shukurjon Zuhurov, and State Adviser to the President for International Matters Erkin Rahmatulloyev are accompanying Rahmon on his two-day visit to Moscow.
The summit is expected to discuss topical issues related to cooperation within the CIS area, including a progress of implementation of the plan to further develop CIS, presidential press service said.
The CIS heads of state are also supposed to consider issues of intensification of work on the CIS economic development strategy, proposals on expansion of transportation policy, creation of common energy and food markets, as well as a complex of measures to raise effectiveness of activities of the CIS authorized bodies.
It cannot be ruled out that during his stay in Moscow, Rahmon will hold a number of bilateral talks with his CIS counterparts.
