DUSHANBE, March 12, Asia-Plus - Deputies of the Majlisi Namoyandagon (Tajikistan’s lower chamber of parliament endorsed amendments to the law the sate finance at a March 12 session presided over by its chairman Saydullo Khairulloyev.
Presenting the amendments bill, Finance Minister Safarali Najmuddinov noted that the proposed amendments are expected to promote implementation of measures to reform the country’s finance system and bring it into compliance with international standards.
Henceforth, the national budget will be adopted in two formats – for three years and for the next fiscal year, the minister said.
“The government is given the right to increase or reduce the expenditure part of the budget by 10 percent,” Najmuddinov said.
The session also ratified Tajik-Turkmen convention on avoiding double taxation.
As it had been reported earlier, all these issue were discussed by the board (Shuro) of the Majlisi Namoyandagon a March 11 meeting. The board also considered a protocol on making amendments to an agreement on legal status of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO).
