DUSHANBE, May 5, Asia-Plus -- “This past winter has uncovered strong and weak points of our economy,” Saidmurod Fattoyev, State Adviser to the Tajik President for Social Development and Public Relations, remarked at a republican seminar formally titled “Immediate Tasks of People’s Democratic Party on Implementation of President’s Address to Majlisi Oli (Tajik parliament)” in Dushanbe on May 3.
According to him, the past winter has shown the necessity and significance of achievement by Tajikistan of energy independence. However, some countries impede implementation of energy projects in Tajikistan, the state adviser said.
Commenting on an April 25 president’s address to a joint session of parliament, Fattoyev noted that economic problems posing threat to international community may change into the political ones.
He named president’s initiative to announce two-year moratorium on inspection of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) very important for development of entrepreneurship in the country. “Unfortunately, some controlling bodies are stifling small and medium businesses development,” Fattoyev said.
He further added that it cannot be ruled out that if the moratorium gives desired results and small and medium businesses develop and replenish the country’s budget, the president may cancel these inspections entirely.
