DUSHANBE, May 15, Asia-Plus -- From May 17, 2008 to March 14, 2009, farm produce fairs will be held on the Barakat, Dehqon, Sakhovat and Shohmansour markets every Saturday, Asia-Plus has learned from Shavkat Saidov, a spokesman for the Dushanbe mayor.
According to him, the fairs are organized by the trade and markets directorate within the Dushanbe mayor’s office. The fairs are to offer 10 tons of vegetables, 10 tons of potatoes, 2 tons of fruits, 2.5 tons of meats, 20 tons of wheat flour, 3 tons of vegetable oil, 3 tons of rice, and 5 tons of grains from reserves of Dushanbe’s markets each.
The Dushanbe branches of Agency for Standardization, Metrology, Certification and Trade Inspection, Veterinary Service and the Center for Sanitary-Epidemiological Supervision will control quality of goods realized at the fairs, the spokesman said.
