DUSHANBE, May 15, Asia-Plus  -- President Emomali Rahmon today left for the Sughd province for a two-day working visit, according to presidential press service.  

During his stay in the province, the president is scheduled to visit a number of farming units in the Bobojonghafurov district.  

During a visit to the farming unit named after Otajon Ubaidulloyev, Emomali Rahmon will hold a meeting with regional administrators to discuss Sughd’s economic over the first four months of this year, the press service said.  

As it had been reported earlier, Rahmon is expected to meet with his Kyrgyz counterpart, President Kurmanbek Bakiyev in Kujand, the regional center on May 16.  They are supposed to discuss border and water-and-energy issues as well as preparations for a summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) that will be held in Dushanbe in August.
