DUSHANBE, May 26, Asia-Plus  -- On Monday May 26, President Emomali Rahmon held a meeting to discuss implementation of his instructions on increasing production of agricultural goods as well as the country’s economic results in the first five months of this year, according presidential press service. 

The meeting participants included members of the government, senior representatives of president’s office and heads of a number of ministries and organizations.  

Speaking at the meeting, the president set tasks to speed up the grain and vegetable harvesting campaigns, stocking up grain and vegetable seeds as well as ensure regular work of pump stations.   

On the construction of facilities of the nation-wide significance, Rahmon charged relevant bodies to accelerate work on construction of the Sangtuda-1 hydropower plant, continuation of the first stage of completing the construction of the Roghun hydroelectric power station, and implementation of investment projects aimed at construction of the railway Dushanbe-Vahdat-Yovon and a 500-kV power grid South-North, the press service said.     

The president also pointed to the necessity of organizing three-shift work of industrial enterprises starting from June.  

He also set tasks on organized preparation and holding events dedicated to mark a National Unity Day and a summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organizations (SCO).  

The head of state reiterated the necessity of organizing a proper work on filling consumer market with domestic products and taking timely preparations to ensure the regular work of the country''s economy during autumn-winter 2008-2009.
