FAYZOBOD, May 30, Asia-Plus -- President Emomali Rahmon today morning left for the city of Roghun. The purpose of the visit is for the president is to get acquainted with the current situation at the construction site for the Roghun hydroelectric power station (HPS).
The first leg of his trip to Roghun has been the Fayzobod district, some 53 kilometers east of Dushanbe.
In Fayzobod, the head of state has visited an orchard in the State Farm named after Abu Abdullo Roudaki. The orchard was laid out on the area of 23 hectares this spring. More than 8,000 fruit trees have planted here. Besides, local farmers indent to increase the orchards area to 200 hectares and lay out a vineyard on the area of 33 hectares in the near future.
The president then visited open joint-stock company Murghi Hilol, which has more than 93,000 head of poultry.
The company director Muhammadali Odinayev said that chickens had been form Iran. “The company produces on average 65,000 eggs per day,” said Odinayev. “We now provide with poultry with chicken meat and eggs Fayzobod and Dushanbe.”
After that, Emomali Rahmon visited an exhibition of local farm produce. They showed him horses of English and Tajik breeds as well as pedigree cattle. The head of state recommended them to breed elite horses.
The president has also attended a ceremony of an official opening of monument to founder of Tajik-Persian classical literature Abu Abdullo Roudaki in Fayzobod.
Today afternoon, Emomali Rahmon will visit Roghun.
