DUSHANBE, June 24, Asia-Plus -- President Emomali Rahmon has inaugurated the Poytakht (Capital City) Palace that was built in place of Café Badakhshon at the Mirzo Tursunzoda Street.
According to presidential press service, the Poytakht Palace is one of new facilities being opened on the occasion of a National Unity and Accord Day, which is marked in Tajikistan on June 27.
The four-storey Poytakht Palace has restaurant, two assembly halls, hall for organization of exhibitions, and concert hall. The building also houses wedding palace, offices of the city committees for youth, sports and tourism affairs and family and women’s affairs, sports complex, city family planning center, the Dushanbe youth museum, and so forth.
A total area of the complex is more than one hectare.
We will recall that the groundbreaking ceremony for construction of the Poytakht Palace was held on March 20, 2007 and it was built at the expense of the Dushanbe city budget.
Visiting Moscow Mayor is scheduled to hold meeting with teaching staff of Russian-Tajik Slavic University in one of assembly halls of the Poytakht Palace today afternoon.
